PLN is a very interesting tool that basically anyone can use. PLN stands for Personal Learning Network or it is also known as Professional Learning Network that one uses social media to connect and share information with other colleagues. It is a fantastic way to making connections and relationships with people who are in the same profession as you. The purpose of a PLN is so that people who work in the same field or same workplace can give each other unique and different ideas or resources to better one another's work. People who use a PLN can also make requests with others that they are connecting to of what they are interested in seeing or they can ask for advice on something that they are doing. An example of this is teachers being able to share what they are doing within the classroom with other teachers to give them ideas of what they might want to consider trying in their classroom. This is also a good resource for teachers to ask other educators questions they may have about lesson plans, decorating the classroom, how to deal with kids who can not focus, and many more topics that teachers run into in their profession. I plan to use my PLN over the final few weeks of this semester by viewing the pages I have followed and collecting ideas that they have for someday when I become a teacher. I will do this because learning new ideas for the classroom or anything to do with teaching really interests me. I will definitely be taking the time to go through the different pages on my PLN as well as look up new pages on twitter that are connected. I also have a PLN on pinterest which I pin classroom ideas, teaching strategies etc. for the future. I love how a PLN can be used in almost any profession and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in connecting with other people who are in their profession.
