Evaluating Student Learning
There are many different types of assessments you can do to assess the students as a teacher. Some of these include:
-
Labs
-
Mad Minute quizzes
-
Exams
-
Written/ Oral Presentations
-
Multiple Choice Quizzes
-
Projects
As a teacher, grading can be on of the toughest responsibilities that they have. Some strategies that can help are:
-
Give students a rubric at the beginning of the assignment.
-
Explain the rubric and how the marking will work.
-
Go off of the rubric, but make personal comments on the assignment as well.
-
Post examples of what an example of a near perfect and a poor assignment are to show the student what the teacher will expect as well as this will help the teacher stay fair while marking when he or she has a basis.
